Luchtfoto Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe

Nederland, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Nieuw-Namen, 05–11-2020; Emmadorp, Het Verdonken Land van Saeftinghe, getijdengebied in het oosten Zeeuws-Vlaanderen op de grens met Belgie en onderdeel van het estuarium van de Schelde. Hertogin Hedwigepolder en haven Antwerpen met kerncentrale Doel in de achtergrond. De voormalige polder is het grootste brakwatergebied van Europa en staat onder invloed van het getij. Het Verdronken Land is een natuurreservaat, in beheer bij het Zeeuws Landschap en belangrijk als broed-, overwinterings- en rustgebied voor vogels.
The Drowned Land of Saeftinghe, tidal area in the east of Dutch Flanders on the border with Belgium. The former polder is the largest brackish water of Europe and because of the the tides, there are mud flats and gullies. The Drowned Land is a nature reserve, not freely accessible. It is managed by the Zeeuws Landscape and important as bird sanctuary, part of the Scheldt estuary.
