Nederland, Zeeland, Oosterschelde, 03-12-2008; Zealand, storm surge barrier in Oosterschelde (East Scheldt), between Islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland; North Sea on this side of the barrier; the sand on the beach in the forground has been suplemented (in order to protect the coast); on the new small dunes marram grass (beach-grass) has been planted; under normal circumstances the barrier is open to allow for the tide to enter / exit; in case of high tides in combination with storm, the slides are closed; Oosterscheldekering gezien van het strand van Noord-Beveland naar Schouwen-Duiveland, aan deze zijde van de kering de Noordzee; in de voorgond neiouw zand op het strand, resultaat van zandsuppletie, op de jonge duintjes is helmgras geplant;
